HI. My name is Tony Curl and I have a real concern with the State of Men's Health. I know so many of my friends and mates, and see hundreds of others that carry that extra weight around their guts. The badge of honour called a Beer Gut. Unhealthy is a nice way to say it. An absolute killer is another. I want everyone to know my story and for you to realise that YOU can change your life and improve your health. Transform your life, all you need is the desire to change.
Please read MY STORY first, then click through the pages. Would love to hear from others and only too willing to help anyone who takes the step to help themselves. Overall I have lost over 29kg, transformed my life and now have kept it off for over twelve months. The proof that you can still drink beer and transform your body.

Day 3 of the Blitz

Hi Team. I'm on Day 3 of the BT Bodysculpt 6 week Blitz and I'm feeling fantastic. Sculpting resistance bands sessions combined with adding some good fats into my diet every 72hours, is making me feel on top of the world. I have just finished breakfast on day 3 and getting ready to charge into the day ahead, as I have already done my 40 minute walk. I'm ready to go.

And just for the record...I'm day 10 now alcohol free as I am committed to getting this extra baggage off. Charge on!

BT Bodysculpt 6 Week Blitz

Ok...So here we are midway through 2012 and I have experienced a three week vacation to the USofA, as well as taken on a new job role. Accordingly, I haven't looked after myself as much as I could have and I certainly enjoyed the Pale Ales and IPA's available in America.

To that end, I have joined up with a group of Bodytrim Legends and devotees, to smash out a six week Blitz on Bodysculpt, to drop the kilos gained and to get me back into the shape that I want to be, as per picture above taken mid-2011.

Current weight is 92.9 and Body Fat is 21.6% and I look forward to sharing my results as I progress. It has now been a week without a beer and 42 days to go, before I have my next.

If you want to jump on board, just throw me a line.

Cheers

It's All in the Bloods

Well, the best thing about being healthy, is the way you feel about yourself. But occasionally, its so good to good external support for the new healthy you. I got results from a blood test today that really highlights the transformation that I have embarked on.

The new blood tests compared against three other tests conducted over the last seven years. I am proud to post the following results and improvements on my bloods since getting real and healthy.

The worst Cholesterol result over the last results was a high of 5.9. My current result is 4.8. 5.9 is scary, 4.8 is cool.  The good cholesterol at its worst was 0.8, now its sits at 1.9 (which I am told is a little high). My triglycerides, which is the fatty crap in your blood, at its worst sat at 3.5, which is high. Now its sits at 0.5. I am told that, that is a little low. My Chol/HDL Ratio now sits at 2.5, but it was as high as 6.6. They tell me that this is the Cardiac Arrest ratio. My doctor says, Whatever you are doing, keep doing it.....I Plan to. According to the Cardiovascular Risk, I sit at 2% of having a stroke/heart attack in the next five years. I like those odds.

To ascertain your own risk......http://www.cvdcheck.org.au

Guys, if there is any other information you need, to change your life....the chance to live longer is it! A heart attack at 50, or living life like a young fella like I think I am. I am so glad I made the choice just a couple of years back and my life is so much better than it has been. I thank Bodytrim, but I also thank me, for doing the hard stuff.  Guys its worth it.

Failure is not Fatal!!!

"This home is in the possession of the mortgagee exercising power of sale"

We saw this sign this morning posted to a window on a smart little house as we did our morning walk. The house was tidy and had a solar power installed, air conditioning along with other improvements. We thought about the young family that the house was ideal for, the pride and joy in their first home, and wondered about the catastrophe in life, that caused them to default their home loan. And it got me thinking........

Extreme things can happen to people. Marriage Breakups, freak accidents, tough times, work issues etc.......But how many times have we been hit for six by something, and couldn't see our way out. Life can be tough at times, and how we face these challenges make us who we are. Do we face them alone, do we take charge, to do confide in trusted allies...DO WE GET UP!

Do you know someone who has stayed down? The mark of a person is not how successful they are, its how they respond when things aren't going their way. Do they stand and fight or surrender and let the world win. Its how many times we get back up, that counts. Successful people, never win 100% of the time. They ultimately win, because of how they respond to their losses and what they learn.

In weight transformation its the same. Have we slipped up occasionally? Probably all of us have. How did we respond? Did we defeat ourselves? Was it all to hard? OR did we dust ourselves off and get back on track immediately?

The choice is ultimately YOURS. YOU CHOOSE. Don't let others/events take that control out of your hands. There is no use blaming others, on your way to an early grave. See your way out....have your vision.....charge on to be the very best you can be.

Cheers

Xmas Excess

Image: luigi diamanti / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

Christmas has not been kind to me and the scales have shown that I am at my heaviest that I have been for over 2 years. Over 89kg, and while I certainly enjoyed myself, I acknowledge that I feel I have let myself down.

I am ready to focus from Mid-January, when I return from holidays and then I need to be more disciplined once I have churned through the additional weight.

I could use excuses......I changed stores, my mum passed away, I lost a lot of close things through some personal dramas.....but at the end of the day, no excuses for being unhealthy.

I will use this blog to maintain my focus and live up to what I say I will. I will also use the Bodytrim forum to post results. It is simply about getting some discipline back into my life, and look out for number 1.

Follow my progress here.
