HI. My name is Tony Curl and I have a real concern with the State of Men's Health. I know so many of my friends and mates, and see hundreds of others that carry that extra weight around their guts. The badge of honour called a Beer Gut. Unhealthy is a nice way to say it. An absolute killer is another. I want everyone to know my story and for you to realise that YOU can change your life and improve your health. Transform your life, all you need is the desire to change.
Please read MY STORY first, then click through the pages. Would love to hear from others and only too willing to help anyone who takes the step to help themselves. Overall I have lost over 29kg, transformed my life and now have kept it off for over twelve months. The proof that you can still drink beer and transform your body.

Dragons Make the Big One

It's been a long time coming, but the Dragons have made the Big One. The NRL Grand Final for the first time since 1999. If you ever wanted to see a grown man, break down in tears in relief, then you would have seen that on Saturday Night, as they held on to defeat the Wests Tigers 13-12 in the Grand Final Qualifier. I don't really want to think about the game until Sunday, so I will be trying to have as normal a week as possible, but expect that Sunday will be a day that is not for any diet regime. Good Luck to any Roosters supporter who may stumble upon this blog, and see every body else next week as I continue my summer quest.

Stop-Start process

The AFL Grand Final is this weekend and the following week the NRL Grand Final. Like most blokes, I enjoy having a beer and watching great footy. So the good work being done during the week, is being blown by a bit of a cavalier attitude on the weekend. The scales don't like me at the moment, as I have added muscle from my resistance workouts but also parked some extra kilos around the waistline. My weeks have been good, but to blow away the extra weight, I know I need to be extra good for a couple of weeks. After the NRL GF, I have a couple of events and if I can limit my non-compliance to just these days, I should be fine. While I got down to 79.2kgs, after the February Bodysculpt challenge, my new frame suggests that my ideal weight will be 83-84kg. The Target is set and now it is just a matter of getting a strong mind and good routine to deliver. End of November is the time frame, and with just over 3kgs to lose, I am feeling confident. If I can trim down further to 81-82kgs, I will be wrapt.

Enjoy the finals and lets do this thing together.

Motivation

What motivates you?   It's a question I am asked often and sometimes find it hard to articulate. I think I am motivated internally, knowing the hard work and discipline that I have had to put together to achieve the results that I have, and change and transform my life.

But motivation can come externally and comes as a surprise. I received an email last week, from Geoff Jowett, the founder of Bodytrim. He had sent all of his Top 10 Bodytrimmers a general email, inquiring after our welfare and letting us know that he thinks often about our achievements and the times he has enjoyed at our BT Top 10 weekends celebrating. This email gave me a lift, to think that a man, who is in the middle of new product launches and the general business of Bodytrim, can spare the time to ring me.

It took me over a week to reply back, due to the pressures of time in my life. The email was motivating enough for me to realise just how successful I have been and not to "slip" back into a way of life that could threaten my health. Thanks Geoff.

What sources of motivation do you use?

Tim is 18

The last couple of weeks have been good from a nutrition and activity sense, but this was has been half good. My son Tim, turned 18 Thursday and with a party planned Friday Night, and with lunches and dinners Thursday, the week hasn't been great. However, I know what I need to do to square off these couple of kilos that have snuck on and commited to getting back on track on Monday. Here is the picture of my young felle propping the bar with his dad for the first time.

So, life is meant to be lived and this week has been a momentous week for me, and my young fella and I really want to live it. Next week, back on track.

Heading the Right Way

You know the feeling you get, when you know you are heading the right way. That is how I feel now! Havn't seen the desired movement on the scales this week, but feel great nevertheless. Monday, Protein only day, Two walks and an Resistance workout. Tuesday, good nurtrition, two walks and a 20minute run, Wednesday, great nutrition, two walks and a resistance workout and already this morning, a walk and a run and great nutrition.

Next week, I will take some measurements, on shoulders, chest and upper arms, as one of the real things that has happened is my muscle mass has increased. It has increased along with some pudding around the belly, but increased...So I think returning to 80kgs, will be out of the question. Next week, measurements and body fat scales....Just keep it Up Curly, Spring is here, summmer around the corner.
